The Manager, Validation and Metrology is responsible for all equipment, utilities and facilities validation/qualification activities and metrology activities at the Herbalife Innovation and Manufacturing facility in Winston Salem, North Carolina.


• Create and maintain the Master Validation/Qualification Plan
• Maintain SOP’s related to validation and update as required to meet current standards
• Create validation protocols and summary reports in compliance with Herbalife standards and/or government regulations.
• Manage all validation activities and projects with departmental managers
• Investigate, document, and resolve protocol deviations in a timely manner
• Ensure that documentation is accurate and deviations are properly addressed
• Create and submit change requests for facility modification, new equipment and document approvals
• Ensure execution of validation activities are done to state and federal regulatory requirements, Herbalife and/or other applicable regulations and standards
• Responsible to produce high quality data, and empowered to stop an analysis that may produce poor quality results as required by ISO 17025
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements



• Strong understanding of the fundamentals of technical documentation
• Detail orientated
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Strong technical writing skills
• Understanding of mechanical systems as they relate to manufacturing equipment, facilities equipment and cleaning systems
• Understanding of electronic systems as they relate to process controls and equipment controls
• Understanding of materials as they relate to manufacturing equipment and suitability for processing compliance


• 5 years’ experience with validation/qualification in a GMP environment
• 5 years’ experience developing multiple validation plans and executing protocols
• 3 years’ experience with Good Documentation Practices
• 3 years’ experience with food, pharmaceutical and/or medical device process


• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or scientific related field (An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)


• Strong statistical analysis background
• Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Project and Visio
• Knowledge of PLC and automated controls qualification
• Knowledge of qualification requirements for powder and liquid handling, processing, and packaging
• Validation experience of equipment cleaning methodologies
